Why

“WE ARE THE DEAF AND BLIND, WE SENSE BY HEART WE MAY NOT HEAR OR SEE, BUT WE FEEL AND DREAM WE ARE MEANT TO CREATE, LIKE WE ARE MEANT TO BE CREATED AND WE GIVE BACK TO THE WORLD - WHAT NO EAR HAS HEARD, AND NO EYE HAS SEEN”

Why

In many places in the world, deaf and blind boys and girls live in seclusion, without opportunities, in poverty. We are going to break this. Let’s break the cycle of exclusion. It's all about giving back. We want to improve the lives of deaf and blind children. That is the heart of the Memphis Foundation. There are now some 24,000 deaf and blind children in Ghana, the country where Memphis’ roots lie. They are a forgotten group, living a life of derision and isolation. Often they do not take part in society at all, cannot go to school and or to the playground in their village. Too often the community turns away from them and their families. People have prejudices and there are many taboos. People think these children don't matter.

In Ghana, giving back to the deaf and blind
I became deaf and blind to the bullshit

Deaf ... to the bullshit

Memphis Foundation wants to inspire young people. We are meant to create, like we are meant to be created. We see it as our mission, one we can accomplish together. We are going to show the world how talented blind and deaf young people are. That they are worthy of support and opportunities.

our mission

We work to empower deaf and blind young people and to strengthen communities that support these young people through the power of sports and music.

Memphis Foundation pictures a world in which deaf and blind young people can fully participate and are completely welcome in their community. Where they can show their talents and dream their dreams.
